Photography Judge - Ken Whitmire

 

 

Ken Whitmire is known nationwide for his lifestyle family portraits.  Among his portrait peers he is often credited with the revival of family wall portrait décor.  A graduate of the Naval School of Photography, Whitmire has a Master of Photography degree from the Professional Photographers of America, and was the 25th recipient of the American Society of Photographers Fellowship.  In 2009, he was awarded the coveted National Gerhard Bakker Award for portrait education.

Past President of American Society of Photographers and Professional Photographers of Washington, Ken Whitmire has won over 100 major photographic awards, including the Eastman Kodak Grand Prize.  He has judged at regional, state, and national levels and abroad.

An avid historian, Whitmire serves on the Board of Directors for the International Photography Hall of Fame, of which he is past president.
